COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Washington State junior Emily Lundgren has been tabbed the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, while teammate Darcy Revitt collected the MW Freshman of the Week nod. Wyoming junior Alicia Gonzalez was selected as the MW Diver of the Week.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
EMILY LUNDGREN, WASHINGTON STATE
Junior, Chula Vista, California, East Lake Highschool
- Helped the Cougars beat Seattle U in a dual meet, improving to 5-0 for the first time since 2010-11.
- Placed first in all four events that she participated in.
- Set a pool and school record at Washington State’s Gibb Pool in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.73. This time qualifies for an NCAA women’s provisional standard, ranks first in the Conference, and ranks 25 nationally.
- Placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 1:02.09, which ranks third in the Conference.
- Placed first in the 200-yard IM with a season-best time of 2:04.06.
- Swam a leg of the victorious 400-yard medley relay.
DIVER OF THE WEEK
ALICIA GONZALEZ, WYOMING
Junior, Canary Islands, Spain/Salesianos School
- Helped the Cowgirls win a rivalry dual meet against Colorado State.
- In the 1-meter springboard, recorded a first-place score of 312.53, surpassing the NCAA Diving Zone standard.
- In the 3-meter springboard, logged a score of 330.15, placing first and surpassing the NCAA Diving Zone standard.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
DARCY REVITT, WASHINGTON STATE
Freshman, Guildford, England
- Helped the Cougars win a dual meet against Seattle U.
- Placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.31, which ranks second in the Conference.
- Placed second in the 100-yard breast with a time of 1:03.76, which ranks tenth in the Conference.
- Swam legs of the 800-yard free relay and the 400-yard medley relay, which placed first and second, respectively.
