COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State sophomore midfielder Mia Casey has been named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, while Utah State senior defender Kaitlyn Richins has been selected as the MW Defensive Player of the Week. Boise State midfielder Jillian Anderson was tabbed the MW Freshman of the Week.

 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MIA CASEY, COLORADO STATE

Sophomore, Midfielder, Rialto, California/Los Osos HS

  • Led Colorado State to a pair of wins over San José State (2-0) and Fresno State (3-2).
  • Registered two goals and three assists for seven points in two starts.
  • Assisted both goals in the victory over the Spartans.
  • Recorded two goals and an assist in the win over the Bulldogs.

 

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

KAITLYN RICHINS, UTAH STATE

Senior, Defender, Layton, Utah/Layton HS

  • Helped Utah State to an undefeated 2-0-0 week with victories over San Diego State (5-1) and New Mexico (1-0).
  • Anchored USU’s defense that allowed just one goal, a penalty kick, in two matches.
  • Limited opponents to a combined 11 shots on the week.

 

 

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

JILLIAN ANDERSON, BOISE STATE

Midfielder, Allen, Texas/Allen HS

  • Guided Boise State to a perfect 2-0-0 week with wins over New Mexico (3-2) and San Diego State (2-0).
  • Recorded two goals for four points in two matches played.
  • Totaled seven shots, including three shots on goal, in 90 minutes of action.
