LOGAN, Utah – After a 1-0 week which included a 4-2 road win over Weber State, Utah State soccer climbed two spots in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25, checking in at No. 7. The Aggies continued the perfect start to the season as they improved to 8-0, matching both the best start and longest winning streak in program history.

The Aggies continue to make history, now matching the highest ever NCAA ranking by a Utah State team in any sport. The men’s basketball team in 1960 is the only other Aggie team to reach as high as No. 7, a spot it held for three weeks.

Utah State received 143 points in the poll, up from last week’s 127. USU is one of just four perfect teams remaining in the country, along with Auburn (8-0-0), Stanford (8-0-0) and Kentucky (8-0-0).

Additionally, the Aggies check in at No. 13 in the first NCAA women’s soccer RPI rankings of the season. Five of USU’s eight wins have come against teams in the top-100 of the rankings. The next-highest Mountain West team in RPI is Boise State at No. 90.

Utah State will return to Chuck & Gloria Bell Field for its final home match of non-conference play as it hosts Washington State (3-3-2, 0-0-0 WCC) on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m.
