CSCAA honor continues long string of academic success

Coach Christopher Woodard watched his team surge in the standings during the Mountain West Championships this season. In the classroom, his squad retained the status quo.

Which, for the 15th consecutive semester, means excellence. Colorado State women’s swimming and diving was named a Spring Scholar All-America team by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America based on a 3.60 GPA. To qualify, teams must reach a cumulative 3.0 GPA for the semester, which the Rams cleared easily. Overall, 722 men’s and women’s teams across all levels of competition reached the standard.

Colorado State’s final number was bolstered by 11 student-athletes who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester: Lindsey Blake, Maggie Di Scipio, Megan Hager, Sophia Hemingway, Anika Johnson, Lucy Matheson, Katie Flynn, Rachel Saxon, Tess Whineray, Maya White and Claire Wright.

Earlier this month, the swimming and diving team was one of three at Colorado State to have earned a perfect multiyear APR for the 2022-23 calculation.

The Rams placed third at the Mountain West Championships, the program’s best showing since 2002. Seven members of the team – including five returners for the 2024-25 season – delivered a combined 14 All-Mountain West performances, with Ern Dawson being named the meet’s Most Outstanding Performer.
