MARICOPA, Ariz. (May 19, 2023) – The Cowboy golfers finished the season with a fifth-place finish at the GOLFWEEK National Golf Invitational at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz. on Sunday. The Pokes finished at 287 (-1) for the final round and 852 (-12) for the event.  It marked the lowest three-round score of the season for the Brown and Gold. The previous was -11 at the Arizona N.I.T.

Kristof Panke had a career tournament carding a 208 (-8) for a sixth-place finish tying for the best of his season. He shot a 68 (-4) for the final round. The eight-under par score was also the lowest for Wyoming this season. It was the lowest-tournament score by a Cowboy since Jimmy Dales was ten-under at the Ka’anapali Classic in 2021.

Jaren Calkins finished at 214 (-2) and tied for 17th place with a round of 74 (+2) on Sunday. Jimmy Dales was at even par 72 for the final round and finished the tournament tied for 30th place at 218 (+2).

Patrick Azevedo added a 73 (+1) in the final round and had a three-round total of 219 (+3) for a tie for 33rd place. Davis Seybert added a 74 (+2) for the final round and finished tied for 36th at 221 (+5).

Washington State ran away with the team title shooting at 823 (-41) for the event finishing 19 strokes ahead of TCU, who finished second. Anthony Delisanti of Valpo won the individual title at 201 (-15).

Wyoming will return most the lineup next season, as the only golfer out of eligibility is Dales.
