CLOVIS, Calif. – The 2024 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships opened on Thursday with the start of the multi-events, six events and six preliminaries at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, California.

With three events completed, Fresno State leads the way on the women’s side with 35 points, while Air Force is on top in the men’s standings with 53 points.

On the first day of competition, Air Force senior Luke Combs broke the MW championship record in the 10,000-meter race after clocking a time of 29:05.72.

Women

Hammer Throw: Mya Lesnar, Colorado State, 62.00 meters

Javelin Throw: Harriette Mortlock, Fresno State 50.06 meters

10,000 Meters: Sarah Carter, Colorado State, 34:00.70

Men

Hammer Throw: Texas Tanner, Air Force, 67.98 meters

Javelin Throw: Joe Nizich, Air Force, 67.24 meters

10,000 Meters: Luke Combs, Air Force, 29:05.72
