FORT COLLINS – Senior second baseman Peyton Allen was named the D1 Softball and Mountain West Player of the Week after her performance against San Jose State last weekend the league offices announced Monday and Tuesday.

Peyton went a perfect four-for-four at the plate to help the Rams to a 2-0 weekend over San Jose State. She reached base each time she stepped to the plate with a 1.000 on-base percentage adding three walks drawn and an HBP. Making her at-bats count, she batted in nine RBI with a triple and a home run on the weekend for a 2.250 slugging percentage.

Not only did she reach base each time she batted, but Allen scored seven runs out of eight base running appearances as the Rams scored 30 unanswered runs over the Spartans during the doubleheader. She added a stolen base and was perfect defensively with three putouts and five assists.

This is Allen’s first national weekly award and first conference weekly award of the season.

The Rams will continue conference play on a seven-game win streak as they travel to Fresno State this weekend for a three-game series against the Bulldogs.
