COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV junior Kennedi Porter has been named the Mountain West Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while Colorado State junior Taye Holker was tabbed the MW Women’s Field Athlete of the Week and San Diego State’s Aji Mbye was selected as the MW Women’s Track & Field Freshman of the Week.

Air Force junior Cameron Breier has been named the MW Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Texas Tanner has been selected as the MW Men’s Field Athlete of the Week and Falcon newcomer Jonah Hochstetler earned MW Men’s Track & Field Freshman of the Week honors.

WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 
KENNEDI PORTER, UNLV
Junior, Rancho Cucamonga, California/Etiwanda HS

  • Won the 100-meter dash (11.36) and placed second in the 200-meter dash (23.42) with personal best-times in both events at UNLV Rebels ELITE.
  • Her 200m time is the fastest in the Mountain West this season, while her 100m time is the second-fastest in the Conference.
  • Also helped the 4×100-meter relay to a first-place finish, clocking a time of 45.60.

WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 
TAYE HOLKER, COLORADO STATE
Junior, Orem, Utah/BYU

  • Won the long jump at the Colorado Invitational with a mark of 6.50 meters.
  • Long jump mark leads the Mountain West and is tied for eighth in the nation this season.

WOMEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK 
AJI MBYE, SAN DIEGO STATE
The Gambia, West Africa/Broadfording Christian Academy

  • Won the 200-meter dash (23.55) and placed second in the 100-meter dash (11.42) at the Triton Invitational.
  • Her 200m time ranks second in the MW and is the top time by a freshman in the Conference this season.
  • Her 100m time broke the SDSU freshman class record and ranks fourth in the MW in 2024.

MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 
CAMERON BREIER, AIR FORCE
Junior, Pasco, Washington/Chiawana HS

  • Finished second in the 400-meter hurdles at the Colorado Invitational with a season-best time of 51.75.
  • His 400-meter hurdle time ranks second in the Mountain West and 20th in the West Region this season.

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 
TEXAS TANNER, AIR FORCE
Sophomore, Sheridan, Wyoming/Sheridan HS

  • Won the shot put (18.43m), hammer throw (72.36m) and discus (55.19m) at the Colorado Invitational, setting career-best marks in all three events.
  • Mark in the hammer throw broke both the Air Force and Mountain West records. Mark also ranks seventh in the NCAA in 2024.
  • Became the second Falcon to surpass 60 feet in the outdoor shot put. Also ranks second in the MW and No. 32 in the NCAA this season.

MEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK 
JONAH HOCHSTETLER, AIR FORCE
Traverse City, Michigan/Traverse City West Senior HS

  • Finished second in the 800-meter run at the Colorado Invitational with a debut time of 1:55.16.
  • Top performance by a MW freshman in the 800m and ranks 14th in the conference overall in 2024.
