COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State’s Jip van Assendelft was tabbed the Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week while Nevada’s Rémy Trégourès was named the MW Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week.

On the women’s side, Fresno State’s Carolina Piferi earned the MW Women’s Tennis Player of the Week nod while Nevada’s Kennedy Robinson garnered the MW Women’s Tennis Freshman of the Week honor.

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

JIP VAN ASSENDELFT, BOISE STATE

Sophomore, Nederweert, Netherlands/Oklahoma

  • Logged two wins over ranked opponents while going 2-3 combined on the week.
  • Against No. 16 Michigan State’s No. 4 Ozan Baris, logged a No. 2 singles win in straight sets (6-4, 6-4).
  • Against No. 47 Old Dominion’s 16th-ranked doubles team of Codie and Connor van Schalkwyck, registered a 6-3 win at No. 1.
  • Two of the sophomore’s three losses were to ranked opponents.

MEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

RÉMY TRÉGOURÈS, NEVADA

Aix-en-Provence, France/Lycée Emile Zola

  • Logged a 2-2 combined record on the week.
  • Against No. 22 Arizona State’s Jacob Bullar and Roi Ginat in No. 2 doubles, earned a 6-4 win, helping win the doubles point for Nevada.
  • Against Grand Canyon’s Paolo Rosati and Pable Salvador in No. 2 doubles, logged a 6-1 victory.

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CAROLINA PIFERI, FRESNO STATE

Senior, Prato, Italy/Instituto Cosimo Bellini

  • Helped the Bulldogs to a 1-1 record on the week with a win over Cal Poly (4-3) and a loss to No. 42 BYU while going 3-0 individually.
  • Against No. 42 BYU’s Kaavya Sawhney, earned the first singles point for Fresno State in a straight-sets win at No. 3 (6-2, 6-2).
  • Against Cal Poly’s Melissa LaMette and Romane Mosse, logged a No. 2 doubles win (6-4).
  • In No. 1 singles against Cal Poly’s Delanie Dunkle, registered a straight-sets victory (6-3, 6-4).

WOMEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

KENNEDY ROBINSON, NEVADA

  • Logged a 2-2 combined record on the week with two singles wins and two losses at No. 3 doubles.
  • Against Santa Clara’s Maria Antonova, battled to a No. 6 singles win (6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-1).
  • Against Saint Mary’s Olivia Rook, logged a straight sets win at No. 5 singles (6-3, 6-3).
