COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State sophomore Lexie Trietley has been tabbed the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week while rookie teammate Tess Whineray garnered MW Swim & Dive Freshman of the Week. Nevada’s Lucia Gabino has been named the MW Diver of the Week.

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

LEXIE TRIETLEY, COLORADO STATE

Sophomore, Olean, New York / Olean HS

  • Helped the Rams to a dual win over Denver (169.5-130.5) at the Moby Pool in Fort Collins.
  • The sophomore won two individual races and anchored two winning relays.
  • In the 50-yard freestyle, clocked a winning time of 23.21, setting a new pool record, eclipsing six-time Olympic gold medalist Amy Van Dyken’s 23.32 mark set in 1994.
  • Placed first in the 100-yard free with a time of 51.36.
  • Anchored both the 200-yard medley (1:42.93) and the 200-yard free (1:34.21) to first-place times.

DIVER OF THE WEEK

LUCIA GABINO, NEVADA

Junior, Madrid, Spain / Ies Ortega Y Gasset

  • Posted the highest combined score among divers in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard with 626.03 in a dual meet at Fresno State.
  • In the 1-meter, logged a second-place mark of 306.23.
  • In the 3-meter, she had a winning score of 319.80, surpassing the NCAA A Standard.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

TESS WHINERAY, COLORADO STATE

Swimmer, Auckland, New Zealand / Western Springs College

  • Helped Colorado State to a 169.5-130.5 win over Denver at the Moby Pool.
  • Won two individual races as well as helping the Rams to win a relay.
  • Registered a win in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.31.
  • With a time of 2:03.31, the freshman secured a win in the 200-yard back.
  • Swam a leg of the first-place 200-yard medley (1:42.93), which broke the pool record for the race that was set by Houston in 2017.
