In addition to earning Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors Monday morning, Colorado State redshirt freshman quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi earned a pair of national quarterback accolades. The rookie was named to the Davey O’Brien Award’s Great 8 List and was named one of the Manning Award’s Stars of the Week.

Fowler-Nicolosi turned in his CSU freshman-record fourth 300-yard passing game of the year in Saturday’s 31-30 win over Boise State, going 32-for-54 for 359 yards and three touchdowns.  The Aledo, Texas, native threw for 207 yards and three TDs in the fourth quarter alone, rallying the Rams for a 20-point deficit in final 4:01 of the contest. His 33-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass as time expired tied the game at 30 and capped the second-largest comeback in program history. Fowler-Nicolosi helped Colorado State beat Boise State for the first time in program history.

Fowler-Nicolosi ranks eighth in the FBS with 1,942 passing yards this season. He’s fourth in the FBS with 323.7 passing yards per game and his 14 passing TDs rank 15th nationally. All of those marks are the best by a freshman nationally.
