COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wyoming sophomore forward Alyssa Glover has been named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, while Utah State graduate goalkeeper Diera Walton was selected as the MW Defensive Player of the Week. Utah State’s Summer Diamond has been tabbed the MW Freshman of the Week.

 

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ALYSSA GLOVER, WYOMING

Sophomore, Forward, Englewood, Colorado/Cherry Creek HS

  • Led Wyoming to a 1-0 record this week with a 2-1 victory over North Dakota.
  • Netted a brace against the Fighting Hawks, including the game-winning goal.
  • Registered five shots and two shots on goal.

 

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DIERA WALTON, UTAH STATE

Graduate, Goalkeeper, Draper, Utah/Jordan HS

  • Guided Utah State to a 1-0 mark with a win over No. 1 BYU (1-0).
  • Earned a shutout and recorded a season-high six saves against the Cougars.
  • Held the nation’s third-highest scoring offense without a goal, lifting the Aggies to just their second win over a No.1-ranked opponent in USU history.

 

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

SUMMER DIAMOND, UTAH STATE

Midfielder, Uintah, Utah/Bonneville HS

  • Helped Utah State to a 1-0 record with a win over No. 1 BYU (1-0).
  • Scored the game-winning goal in the 51st minute against the Cougars.
  • Posted a game-high three shots.
