COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico senior quarterback Dylan Hopkins has been tabbed the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, while Air Force senior inside linebacker Alec Mock has been named MW Defensive Player of the Week. Falcon junior placekicker Matthew Dapore earned MW Special Teams Player of the Week honors, while San José State wide receiver Matthew Coleman was selected as MW Freshman of the Week.

The weekly honors are the first in the careers of all four players.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
DYLAN HOPKINS, NEW MEXICO
Senior, Quarterback, Maryville, Tenn. / Maryville HS / UAB

  • Went 13-for-17 for 273 yards and four touchdowns in just three quarters of work in UNM’s 56-10 win over Tennessee Tech.
  • Hopkins’s four passing TDs were the second-most in program history.
  • Posted a passer rating of 277.2.
  • Threw his four touchdowns to four different receivers, including a career-long 78-yard score to Duece Jones late in the second quarter.
  • Helped the Lobos snap a 10-game losing streak.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ALEC MOCK, AIR FORCE
Senior, Insider Linebacker, Weddington, N.C. / Weddington HS

  • Had 11 tackles, including six solo stops and a tackle for loss, in Air Force’s 13-3 win over Sam Houston at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
  • Four of his tackles forced third downs, with the Bearkats failing to convert on third down each time.
  • His tackle for loss came on third-and-short and forced a Sam Houston field goal.
  • Led a defense that allowed just 80 yards of total offense, the fourth-lowest total by an Air Force opponent in program history.
  • The Falcons have allowed 10 points or fewer in eight games since the beginning of last season, trailing only Georgia (nine) and Iowa (nine) for the most such games in that span.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MATTHEW DAPORE, AIR FORCE
Junior, Placekicker, Springboro, Ohio / Springboro HS

  • Tied his career high with two field goals in Air Force’s 13-3 win over Sam Houston, hitting a pair of field goals from 42 yards.
  • Put the Falcons on the board with his first field goal with 8:36 left in the first half.
  • After the Bearkats tied the game in the third, put Air Force ahead for good with another field goal with 13:41 left in the game.
  • Added a point-after for his seventh point of the day after the Falcons scored the lone touchdown of the game with 5:14 left in the game.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
MATTHEW COLEMAN, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Redshirt Freshman, Wide Receiver, Carson, Calif. / Junipero Serra HS

  • Had a 75-yard punt return for a score in San José State’s 59-3 win over Cal Poly.
  • The punt return for a touchdown was the first for the Spartans since 2018 and the first against Cal Poly since 2016.
  • Also had three catches for 20 yards.
