COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State junior middle blocker Alexandra Poletto has earned Mountain West Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Rams redshirt freshman middle blocker Kirstie Hillyer has garnered MW Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week accolades for matches played through Sunday, November 13, 2016. It is the fourth Conference weekly award for Poletto and the first for Hillyer.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ALEXANDRA POLETTO, COLORADO STATE
Junior, Middle Blocker, Toronto, Ontario, Canada / De La Salle HS
• Led Colorado State to a 2-0 week with road wins at San Diego State and Nevada.
• Averaged 2.62 kills and 3.56 points per set with a .459 hitting percentage.
• Posted 12 kills with a .308 attack percentage in a 3-2 victory versus the Aztecs. Also had two service aces, 1 dig and eight total blocks.
• In a 3-0 win against the Wolf Pack, recorded nine kills and a .818 attack percentage. Also had one service ace, three digs and one block assist.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KIRSTIE HILLYER, COLORADO STATE
Redshirt Freshman, Middle Blocker, Bayfield, Colorado / Bayfield HS
• Led Colorado State defensively to a 2-0 record with victories at San Diego State and Nevada.
• Averaged 2.38 blocks per set while playing in all eight sets.
• Recorded eight block assists against the Aztecs, to go along with nine kills, one assist and one dig.
• Posted 11 total blocks versus the Wolf Pack, while collecting four kills.
