COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West has announced the Men’s Tennis All-Tournament Team, as selected by the league’s eight head coaches. The team recognizes student-athletes who competed in the majority of the conference tournament at the position for which they were selected. This year’s All-Tournament Team features representatives from Boise State, UNLV and Utah State.

Four standout performers from Utah State’s championship team were honored on the All-Tournament Team in singles. At No. 1 singles, Jean-Baptise Badon earned the MVP honors after a brilliant week in Las Vegas, which included taking down the MW Player of the Year Ilia Snitari in straight sets in a 4-3 semifinal win over UNLV and securing the tournament title with a tiebreaker-win over Boise State’s No. 1 giving the Aggies the 4-3 championship victory over the Broncos. Badon’s teammates Xavier Calvelo, Roman Venger and Eliot Nobel picked up the all-tournament singles honors at the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 spots, respectively.

Boise State’s Lukas Velik was selected at the No. 5 singles spot, while fellow Bronco Taiyo Kurata rounded out the singles honors at the No. 6 spot.

Utah State also collected two of three doubles honors with Cavelo and Aggie freshman Jakub Medved taking the No. 1 doubles award and Nobel and Venger earning the No. 3 doubles nod. MW Freshman of the Year Marko Maksimovic and Illia Maksymchuk represented UNLV as the No. 2 doubles pair.
