RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. — Grand Canyon leads the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women’s Golf Championship field after the second day of competition at the Dinah Shore Championship course at Mission Hills Country Club. With a score of 8-over, 584, the Lopes are followed closely by Nevada (+9; 585), UNLV (+10; 586), San José State (+13; 589) and Wyoming (+16; 592) in the top half of the team leaderboard.
In the individual standings, Leia Chung of Boise State leads the field with a 7-under par, 137, which is tied for third-lowest 36-hole score in MW tournament history. The native of Wahiawa, Hawaii, carded a 68 on Wednesday, tying for the third-lowest single-round score in championship history. Grand Canyon’s Alexis Vakasiuola is in second place with a 5-under, 139 through two rounds. Vakasiuola’s 139 is tied for fifth-best through two days in league tournament history. Kara Kaneshiro of Colorado State rounds out the top three, heading into the final round on Thursday.
