COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Grand Canyon junior Charlie Pade has been selected as the Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week and UNLV’s Marko Maksimovic is the MW Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week for the second time this season.

On the women’s side, Lopes sophomore Bella Crossman earned MW Women’s Tennis Player of the Week honors, while New Mexico’s Vianca Corley picked up the MW Women’s Tennis Freshman of the Week award.

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CHARLIE PADE, GRAND CANYON
Junior, Coffs Harbour, Australia

  • Went 5-0 in his singles and doubles matches to help Grand Canyon to three wins on the week, including the Lopes’ first Mountain West win over Boise State.
  • Went 3-0 at the No. 6 single spot with his singles victory against Boise State clinching the win against the Broncos.
  • Added a pair of doubles victories at the No. 3 spot.

MEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
MARKO MAKSIMOVIC, UNLV
Belgrade, Serbia/E-Gimnazija

  • Went 3-0 across singles and doubles against two ranked teams on the road, No. 75 Pacific and No. 40 Santa Clara.
  • Both of his singles matches at the No. 2 spot were straight-sets wins.
  • Won his No. 2 doubles match against Pacific and was tied with Santa Clara’s top doubles duo and No. 19 ranked pair in the nation before the match was abandoned.

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BELLA CROSSMAN, GRAND CANYON
Sophomore, Torrumbarry, Australia

  • Went 3-2 combined in singles and doubles against Oregon, No. 32 Texas Tech and Tulsa.
  • Beat Oregon’s top singles player, Tilde Jagare, 6-0, 1-6, 6-4, and added straight-sets singles win over Tulsa’s No. 1, 6-1, 6-4.
  • Took down nationally ranked Texas Tech’s No. 2 doubles duo.

WOMEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
VIANCA CORLEY, NEW MEXICO
Albuquerque, New Mexico/Eldorado HS

  • Went 3-0 on the week, including two-match clinching wins at No. 2 singles against New Mexico State and Northern Arizona.
  • Against NMSU, came back from being down 1-6 and 1-2 to eventually win 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 to clinch the Lobos’ 4-1 win.
  • Teamed up with twin sister Vivica Corley in the No. 3 spot to help secure the doubles point then clinched the victory over NAU with a 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 win.
