COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West, in partnership with Grand Canyon University, will host the 2026 Mountain West Esports Championships at the GCU Esports Arena in Phoenix, Arizona, on April 11. It will mark the first MW Championship hosted on GCU’s campus.
“Hosting the spring Esports championship on GCU’s campus is a tremendous opportunity for the Mountain West, our fantastic gamers and our growing esports fanbase,” said MW Esports Director Justin Packard. “GCU has been a great addition to the MW Esports community with an enthusiastic fan base. We thank Jay DeShong and the entire GCU Esports staff for jumping at this opportunity to bring a Mountain West championship to their arena.”
The event will feature grand finals for League of Legends, Overwatch 2 and VALORANT with national championship berths on the line. Riot Games offers automatic bids to the Mountain West Champions in League of Legends and VALORANT. The MW Champions in Overwatch 2 and VALORANT receive bids to CECC May Madness in Waco, Texas.
