COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Nevada graduate guard Corey Camper Jr. has been named the Old Trapper Mountain West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while New Mexico guard Jake Hall was tabbed the Old Trapper MW Freshman of the Week.
This is the third weekly honor of the season and second in a row for Hall. Camper earned his first Conference weekly accolade of the season.
MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
COREY CAMPER, Jr.
Graduate Student, Guard, Little Rock, Arkansas/UTEP
- Guided Nevada to victories over Grand Canyon (66-60) in overtime and UNLV (89-76).
- Averaged 20 points, while shooting 50 percent (14-for-28) from the field and 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from long range. Also registered five rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals in two starts for the Wolf Pack.
- In the overtime win against the Lopes, recorded eight points, six boards and five assists.
- Against the Runnin’ Rebels, notched a career-high 32 points behind an 11-for-15 effort, including five triples.
MEN’S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
JAKE HALL, NEW MEXICO
Guard, Carlsbad, California/Carlsbad HS
- Helped New Mexico to a pair of road wins at UNLV (89-61) and at San José State (90-80), moving into a three-way tie in the MW standings.
- Averaged 21.5 points and two rebounds, while connecting on 68 percent (17-for-25) of attempts from the field and 60 percent (9-of-15) from the 3-point line.
- Recorded 16 points behind a 63.6 percent shooting effort from the floor against the Runnin’ Rebels.
- Registered a career-best 27 points after shooting 71.4 percent from the field against the Spartans.
