COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Utah State’s Tierney Barlow was tabbed the Old Trapper Mountain West Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while Wyoming’s Sarah Holcomb was named the Old Trapper MW Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. Colorado State’s Erin Debiec collected the Freshman of the Week nod.

This is the third MW weekly honor for Barlow and second each for Holcomb and Debiec this season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TIERNEY BARLOW, UTAH STATE
Senior, Middle Blocker, Colorado Springs, Colorado/Wyoming

  • Guided the Aggies to a 2-0 week with road wins over Fresno State (3-0) and San José State (3-1), with the sweep over Fresno State securing USU the outright regular-season MW title.
  • Average 3.71 kills per set on a .591 hitting efficiency and did not record a single hitting error.
  • At Fresno State, logged nine kills.
  • At San José State, tallied 17 kills, two assists and one service ace.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SARAH HOLCOMB, WYOMING
Senior, Middle Blocker, Dallas, Texas/Plano East HS

  • Guided the Cowgirls to a 2-0 week on the road with wins over UNLV (3-1) and San Diego State (3-0), with the two wins earning Wyoming a spot in the Credit Union 1 MW Women’s Volleyball Championship.
  • Averaged 2.29 blocks per set, totaling 16 blocks, three of which were solos.
  • At UNLV, recorded five blocks and two digs.
  • At San Diego State, notched 11 blocks.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
ERIN DEBIEC, COLORADO STATE
Setter, Potomac, Maryland/Bishop O’Connell HS

  • Helped Colorado State to a 2-0 week on the road and to clinch a slot in the upcoming CU1 MW tournament.
  • Averaged 10.25 assists and 2.75 digs per set for the Rams.
  • At San Diego State, registered 39 assists, six digs, four blocks, two kills and one service ace.
  • At UNLV, logged 43 assists, 16 digs, three kills, two blocks and one service ace.
