COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West and Apple are collaborating to bring iPad to MW football sidelines and coaches’ booths during the 2025 season.

Initially announced by Mountain West Commissioner Gloria Nevarez on July 16, 2025, during her State of the Conference address at MW Football Media Days in Las Vegas, Apple is equipping coaching staffs across all 12 member institutions with iPad, embracing modern hardware-software solutions that enhance in-game strategy and coaching precision.

“The Mountain West is proud to lead with innovation and elevate the competitive experience through the integration of cutting-edge technology,” said Mountain West Commissioner Gloria Nevarez. “By bringing iPad to the sidelines, we’re empowering our coaches and student-athletes with real-time tools that enhance performance, sharpen decision-making, and advance the game of football. This collaboration builds on the Conference’s commitment to embracing technology across all sports and ensures our programs are equipped to thrive in today’s fast-paced, data-driven environment.”

The Conference is equipping its teams with iPad Air with M3 and iPad Pro with M4, featuring “nano-texture glass” displays that reduce glare for better visibility in outdoor, sunny environments. Replay technology from DVSport, integrated with iPad Pro and iPad Air, allows coaches to view different camera angles, add notes, and make real-time adjustments. With a large multi-touch display, powerful performance, and lightweight portability, iPad is ideally suited for the fast-paced environment of college football.

“For today’s student-athletes, iPad is already part of their everyday routine — fitting seamlessly into how they train, learn, and compete, making it perfect for college football game days,” said Scott Brodrick, Apple’s Worldwide iPad Product Marketing Manager. “With its powerful performance, advanced display, fast connectivity, and all-day battery life, iPad helps teams analyze, adapt in real time, and compete at their best.”
