COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announces Air Force’s Evan Urbina as the 2025 Mountain West Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year, as selected by the league’s seven head coaches. He is the Falcons’ first men’s tennis coach to earn the honor.
With just two seasons under his belt, Urbina guided the Falcons to 11 wins this season, nearly doubling last year’s total. He led his team through a milestone upset over No. 65 New Mexico, which broke a 25-match losing streak to the Lobos dating back to 2005. It also marked Air Force’s first victory over a nationally ranked opponent since 2013. Urbina had seven players earn Mountain West Player of the Week honors, with two named to the All-Conference team in singles and one doubles pair earning All-Conference recognition.
