BOISE, Idaho – Tyson Degenhart gained more national attention on Wednesday as the Boise State senior was named to the 2024-25 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Men’s Player of the Year Watch List, presented by AXIA Time.
The Naismith Trophy is considered the premier award in collegiate basketball, recognizing the top players and coaches from across the country.
Degenhart has earned several preseason accolades so far, including the Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year honor, All-Mountain West Preseason Team, and the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Preseason Watch List.
A native of Spokane, Wash., Degenhart is coming off a 2023-24 season in which he led the Broncos in scoring with 16.7 points per game and was second with 6.2 rebounds per game. He turned it on in conference play as he averaged 18.2 points in Mountain West games, which was second-best in the conference. He finished the season with 534 points, which are 12th-most in a single season in school history.
Degenhart is a two-time All-Mountain First Team recipient and a 2024 CSC Academic All-America First Team honoree.
Boise State is a week away from opening its 2024-25 season as it will host Oakland at ExtraMile Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
