NEW YORK – Former Diamond ‘Dog Aaron Judge is headed to the World Series after the New York Yankees claimed the American League pennant for the 41st time in franchise history. The Yanks will face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Fall Classic for the first time since 1981 in the 12th World Series matchup between the clubs.
The first-round draft pick has started the 2024 Postseason with a .161 average, totaling five hits, a pair of home runs, six RBIs and one stolen base leading up to his first career World Series appearance.
Since his MLB debut in 2016, Judge has joined the Yankees in the Postseason seven times. In Judge’s tenure, the Yankees have advanced to the ALCS in 2017, 2019 and 2022. The 2024 season marks the first time the Yankees will compete in the World Series with Judge on the squad, and the first time the club has made an appearance in the Championship since 2009.
Judge led the Yankees through a 94-68 season with a .322/.458/.701 slash line. The 2022 American League MVP hit 58 home runs in the regular season to lead the MLB and totaled 180 base knocks including 36 doubles and a triple. Judge drove in 144 runs and scored 122 of his own, also drawing 133 walks. In addition, he was 10 for 10 in base-stealing attempts.
