COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State’s Malaya Jones was tabbed as the Mountain West Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. Fresno State’s Kasey Purry collected the MW Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, while Boise State’s Kiki Remensperger garnered the MW Volleyball Freshman of the Week nod.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MALAYA JONES, COLORADO STATE
Senior, Opposite, Santa Ana, California/Santa Margarita HS
- Led the Rams to a 2-0 week to remain undefeated in Conference action with wins over San José State, 3-0, and Fresno State, 3-1.
- Averaged 4.57 kills per set across seven sets.
- Against the Spartans, logged 12 kills and one assist.
- Against the Bulldogs, totaled 20 kills, three service aces and one assist.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KASEY PURRY, FRESNO STATE
Graduate, Middle Blocker, Tucson, Arizona/Sahuaro HS
- Helped the Bulldogs to a 1-1 week with a road 3-2 win over Wyoming.
- Averaged 1.22 blocks per set, totaling four solo blocks and seven block assists.
- At Wyoming, logged two solo blocks, five block assists and a pair of digs.
- At Colorado State, notched an additional two solo blocks and two block assists.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
KIKI REMENSPERGER, BOISE STATE
Freshman, Setter/Outside, San Diego, California/Poway HS
- Helped the Broncos to a 2-0 week with wins over Air Force, 3-1, and New Mexico, 3-0.
- Averaged 1.29 kills per set, 5.86 assists per set, 2.43 digs per set and 1.29 blocks per set.
- Against the Flacons, collected five kills on a .400 hitting percentage, 27 assists, one service ace, eight digs and seven block assists.
- Against the Lobos, notched four kills, 14 assists, nine digs and two block assists.
