OGDEN, Utah – No. 9 Utah State soccer (8-0, 0-0 MW) used a trio of second half goals to remain undefeated Sunday afternoon at Wildcat Soccer Field, coming from behind to defeat Weber State 4-2. With the win, USU matches both its best start and longest winning streak in program history.

The Aggies wasted no time getting on the board on this one, striking just six minutes in when senior defender Addy Weichers netted the second goal of her career, a header on a corner kick from sophomore midfielder Summer Diamond. Utah State controlled the first half with an 8-4 shot advantage through the first 45, but a goal in the 40th minute from Weber State’s Ali Swensen evened things up at 1-1.

In the second half, Weber State’s Lily Blum struck from outside the 18-yard box on a 58th minute goal to put the hosts ahead and give Utah State its first deficit of the season, but the lead was short-lived. The Aggies responded with three goals in the next 15 minutes to regain command. First, it was sophomore forward Kate Christian in the 62nd minute with a goal following an assist from Diamond, then the two flipped roles a minute later as Christian assisted Diamond in the 63rd minute. In the 72nd minute, freshman forward/midfielder Austin Miller caught the goalie off her mark, converting a hustle play into a 4-2 lead for USU.
