LOGAN, Utah – After opening the season 3-0 with shutouts in all three contests, the Utah State soccer team is ranked No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll. This is the first national ranking in program history, coming a week after the team received its first ever votes in the poll.
The Aggies are off to a 3-0 start to the year, including two wins against 2023 NCAA Tournament teams. Utah State has blanked all three of its opponents, out-scoring them by a combined 9-0. Most recently, USU took down 2023 Big 12 champions Texas Tech 2-0 at home on Sunday. This is the first 3-0 start to a year for the team since 2013.
Utah State received 47 votes and is the lone team from the Mountain West ranked this week, though two of the team’s next three opponents appear in the poll. BYU, who the Aggies face on Saturday, Aug. 31, check in at No. 16. Utah Valley, who USU faces on Thursday, Sept. 5, is the second team outside of the top 25 with 14 votes.
Utah State also checked in at No. 24 in the TopDrawerSoccer rankings and is once again the top team in the United Soccer Coaches Pacific Region rankings.
