COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – New Mexico’s Aram Noroozian has been named the Mountain West Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Nevada’s Rémy Trégourès was tabbed the MW Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week. San Diego State’s Yasmine Kabbaj earned the MW Women’s Tennis Player of the Week honor, while San José State’s Cheuk Ying Shek was named the MW Women’s Tennis Freshman of the Week.

MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ARAM NOROOZIAN, NEW MEXICO
Junior, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada/Pro Merita Academy
• Earned a pair of match-clinching singles victories as New Mexico claimed wins over Wichita State (4-3) and UTSA (5-2) on Friday and Saturday, respectively, in Wichita, Kansas.
• Helped the Lobos run their winning streak to six matches.
• Topped Wichita State’s Vanja Hodzic 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) at No. 2, rallying from a 5-3 deficit in the second set and fighting off two set points to clinch the team win.
• Clinched the match against UTSA with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Tomas Pinho at No. 3.

MEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
RÉMY TRÉGOURÈS, NEVADA
Aix-en-Provence, France/Lycée Emile Zola
• Earned a straight-sets win in Nevada’s 4-2 loss at Utah on Saturday.
• Picked up a 6-4, 6-3 win over Dylan Applegate at No. 5 singles.
• Dropped a tight bout at No. 5 at BYU on Friday, winning the first set before falling in a tiebreak, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 10-4.

WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
YASMINE KABBAJ, SAN DIEGO STATE
Junior, Fes, Morocco/CNED/Florida International University
• Went a combined 5-1 on the week, including a 3-0 singles mark and a pair of wins over ranked opponents.
• Opened her week with a 6-2, 6-3 win over No. 86 Ana Vilcek at No. 1 singles in a 7-0 win over Hawai‘i on Wednesday. Also paired with Myah Petchey for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles over Vilcek and Nelly Knezkova.
• Helped San Diego State to a 7-0 win over Long Beach State on Friday, earning a 6-3, 6-3 win over Rhona Cook at No. 1 singles and teaming with Petchey for a 6-4 win over Cook and Peppi Ramstedt at No. 1 doubles.
• In a 5-2 loss to No. 14 California on Sunday, Kabbaj earned her second ranked win of the week, downing No. 21 Hannah Viller Moeller at No. 1 singles, 4-6, 7-5, 10-4. She suffered her only loss of the week against 15th-ranked Mao Mushika and Moeller at No. 1 doubles, 7-6 (3).

WOMEN’S TENNIS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
CHEUK YING SHEK, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Sai Kung, Hong Kong
• Earned wins in singles and doubles to help the Spartans remain undefeated on the season with a 4-3 win over Saint Mary’s on Friday.
• Paired with Irena Muradyan to claim a 6-2 win over TianYu Dong and Juliette Daries at No. 1 doubles.
• Earned a 6-4, 6-1 win over Saint Mary’s Stefani Silva at No. 3 singles.
• Was the first court to finish in both singles and doubles.
• Earned her second MW Freshman of the Week nod this season (Jan. 31).
