COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State junior Brooke Cowie has been tabbed the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, while rookie teammate Dionii Fraga garnered MW Freshman of the Week honors. Utah State’s Shelby Capllonch has been selected as the MW Defensive Player of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

BROOKE COWIE, FRESNO STATE

Junior, Setter, Scottsdale, Arizona / Pinnacle HS

  • Led Fresno State to a 2-0 week with wins over Colorado State (3-2) and Wyoming (3-0), including the Bulldogs’ first win at Moby Arena since 1996.
  • Averaged 10.13 assists per set with a total of 81 assists, while also logging five kills and five service aces across the two matches.
  • In the five-set victory over CSU, logged a career and season-high 52 assists, four service aces with a .810 service percentage, and four kills with a .429 hitting percentage. Also contributed 11 digs and four blocks for Fresno State, giving the junior another double-double.
  • In the sweep over the Cowgirls, the junior posted 29 assists, one kill and one service ace. Also contributed six digs for the Bulldogs.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

SHELBY CAPLLONCH, UTAH STATE   

Graduate, Outside, Honolulu, Hawaii / UNLV

  • Led the Aggies to a pair of wins over UNLV (3-2) and San Diego State (3-1).
  • Posted 27 digs, averaging 3.0 per set, four blocks and was perfect on 51 total receptions. Also contributed 28 kills, averaging 3.11 per set, four service aces and one assist.
  • In the 3-2 win over the Rebels, registered a double-double with 12 digs and 19 kills. Additionally, contributed four service aces and one assist.
  • Against the Aztecs, logged 15 digs and four blocks to help the Aggies to a four-set victory. Also contributed nine kills for Utah State.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

DIONII FRAGA, FRESNO STATE         

Libero, Sanger, California / Sanger HS

  • Helped the Bulldogs to a pair of wins over Colorado State (3-2) and Wyoming (3-0), including the Bulldogs’ first win at Moby Arena since 1996.
  • Totaled 35 digs on the week, averaging 4.38 per set.
  • Against the Rams logged 22 digs, posted a .957 reception percentage with only one error, a career-high five service aces and two assists.
  • In the 3-0 sweep of the Cowgirls tallied 13 digs, a .833 reception percentage and two assists.
