COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State senior Kelsey Hall has been tabbed Mountain West Player of the Week, while San José State senior Jenessa Ullegue has earned MW Pitcher of the Week and MW Freshman of the Week honors are awarded to Utah State’s Jaden Colunga.
This is Hall’s third MW weekly honor, second for Colunga and first for Ullegue.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KELSEY HALL, BOISE STATE
Senior, OF, Sacramento, California/ Fresno State
- Led Boise State to a 3-0 week to open up Conference play with a series win over UNLV.
- Posted a batting average of .667, scored four runs on two doubles, a home run, and batted in 10 runners.
- Registered an on-base percentage of .600 and a slugging percentage of 1.222
- Brought in a run on a sacrifice fly in the first game of the series, (W, 4-3).
- Recorded a home run, a double, and five RBIs in the 10-0 shutout over the Rebels.
- Collected four RBIs to help the Broncos complete the series with a 17-7 win.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
JENESSA ULLEGUE, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Senior, RHP, Ventura, California/Buena HS
- Helped the Spartans to a 3-1 week, opening league play 2-1, winning the series at home over Nevada.
- Allowed only one hit and one walk in seven innings of work against the Wolf Pack on March 18.
- Logged 11 strikeouts and gave up no runs in a 5-0 win over Nevada.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
JADEN COLUNGA, UTAH STATE
Freshman, LF, Colton, California/ Grand Terrace HS
- Helped Utah State to a 3-1 week including a 2-1 series win to open up Conference action against New Mexico (W, 5-4; W, 8-0; L, 13-15).
- Recorded a batting average of .438 which included two doubles and a home run.
- Scored three runs and logged six RBIs on seven hits at the plate.
- Posted an average on-base percentage of .438 and a slugging percentage of .750.
