COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – After leading Fresno State (20-4) to a perfect 10-0 record in Mountain West competition, Bulldogs’ head coach Denise Dy has been named the MW Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year.
Dy is the first Fresno State head coach the win Coach of the Year since Ryan Stotland in 2014.
Second-year head coach Dy, led No. 69 Fresno State to its first-ever MW regular-season title, earning the top seed in the MW Women’s Tennis Championship for the fourth time in program history.
The 20-win season by the Bulldogs is the 11th in program history and the first since 2009.
This past season, Dy helped Fresno State earn an Intercollegiate Tennis Association ranking as high as No. 51 as the squad has been ranked inside the Top 75 for nine-consecutive weeks.
Under the guidance of Dy, senior Pang Jittakoat earned Mountain West Women’s Tennis Player of the Year recognition. It is the second-consecutive year that Dy has had a student-athlete claim the MW’s highest honor. Jittakoat and freshman Matilde Magrini collected All-Mountain West singles and doubles recognition.
