Macy Gilliland joined the Mountain West staff in July 2021 and was promoted to Director of Championships in July 2023.
Gilliland came to the Mountain West from Louisiana Tech University, where she served as an Athletic Department Ticket Sales Consultant in 2020-21. In addition to heading outbound ticket sales and managing premium spaces for baseball, she assisted with event management in football, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, women’s soccer, baseball and softball. Gilliland was also involved with Louisiana Tech’s hosting of both the 2021 Conference USA Baseball Championship and a 2021 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship Regional.
Prior to her time at Louisiana Tech, Gilliland worked in the Iowa State University Athletics Department as a Premium Services & Special Events intern from 2017 to 2020. She staffed over 100 athletic and public events during her time in Ames while working with the ISU development team and Cyclone Club.
Gilliland has previous experience with the Mountain West, having served as a Strategic Communications Intern in 2019 and an Administrative Intern in 2017 and 2018. Her duties included specific strategic communications items, assisting with the on-site administration of the 2019 MW Baseball Championship in Reno, Nev., and staffing the annual MW Football Media Days in Las Vegas.
A native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Gilliland is a summa cum laude graduate of Iowa State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in leadership studies in 2020.
