Brian Tripp joined the Mountain West staff in August 2013, bringing over 19 years of experience in television production into his position as associate commissioner of the MW Network. In his role, Tripp manages the implementation and daily operations of the enhanced network and is responsible for all technical operations, including master control, transmission, distribution, studio and remote productions. Tripp also coordinates all live events produced by the Conference.

Tripp comes to the Mountain West following a successful run as the news director and coordinating producer for NBC Sports Group, where he served in various capacities with the MountainWest Sports Network (The Mtn.) from 2006-12. At The Mtn., Tripp was tasked with coordinating all studio shows, as well as general broadcast quality control. He also supervised the network’s newsroom staff. In addition to overseeing all studio productions, Tripp coordinated freelance shoots with reporters and photographers in every Mountain West market and oversaw content production for the network’s website.

A five-time Emmy Award winner, Tripp began his career as a sports editor/producer at KSL-TV, an NBC affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1994 while completing his bachelor’s degree. Tripp spent four years, 1997-2001, in San Diego as a sports producer for ABC affiliate KGTV. In May 2001, Tripp moved to Colorado to work for FOX Sports Net Rocky Mountain, producing the FSN Baseball Report and Rocky Mountain Sports Report.

A native of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tripp graduated from the University of Utah in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications with an emphasis in broadcast journalism. He, his wife, Joana, and their two children live in Parker, Colo.
