MESA, Ariz. — Air Force (27-27) eliminated New Mexico (29-24-1), 11–1, in a win-or-go-home game at the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Baseball Championship at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona.

The Falcons tallied nine runs between the third and fifth inning on their way to run-ruling the Lobos. Air Force becomes the first team since 2017 to record multiple run-rule victories in a single MW tournament.

The Falcons offense was potent, highlighted by two home runs and 19 hits. Air Force has been aggressive on the base paths all championship and that continued Saturday morning as it registered another six stolen bases. The Falcons now own the record for stolen bases in a single MW tournament with 17. The previous record was held by BYU (13; 2002).

Luke Elmore stood out for Air Force, registering four hits, four RBIs and two home runs, while crossing the plate three times. Christian Taylor also contributed four hits and scored twice.

On the mound, Ethan Dillinger pitched 8.0 innings, allowing just two hits and one earned run, while striking out five batters and getting his second win of the season.

Air Force will now await the loser of Washington State-San Diego State. The elimination game is slated for 6:05 p.m. MST on Saturday evening.
