LAS VEGAS – Boise State advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women’s Basketball Championship with a 68-51 victory over San José State in first-round action Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The Broncos led from the opening minutes and gradually extended the margin throughout the afternoon. Boise State built a 20-16 lead after the first quarter and carried a 32-25 advantage into halftime before pulling away in the second half.
Boise State’s frontcourt duo of Natalie Pasco and Libby Hutton powered the Broncos offensively and on the glass. Pasco finished with a game-high 21 points and 11 rebounds to record a double-double, while Hutton also registered a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Tatum Thompson also reached double figures with 14 points, converting all eight of her free throw attempts, as Boise State placed three players in double figures.
The Broncos created separation in the third quarter, outscoring the Spartans 18-12 to take a 50-37 lead into the final period, and maintained control the rest of the way.
San José State was led by Maya Anderson, who scored 18 points and added nine rebounds, while Katarina Anderson contributed 13 points, five rebounds and four assists. Gabriela Pato also finished with 13 points for the Spartans.
Boise State capitalized at the free throw line throughout the game, finishing 22-of-26 (84.6 percent) from the stripe while committing just nine turnovers.
With the win, Boise State advances to the quarterfinal round of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women’s Basketball Championship where it will take on fourth-seeded New Mexico.
