Colorado Springs, Colo. – New Mexico senior Brodie Young has been named the Mountain West Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, while Boise State senior Landon Helms was selected as the MW Men’s Field Athlete of the Week. Utah State’s David Konan earned MW Men’s Freshman of the Week honors.
New Mexico junior Rebecca Grieve was selected as the MW Women’s Track Athlete of the Week and Colorado State graduate senior Makayla Long was tabbed the MW Women’s Field Athlete of the Week. First-year Lobo Eva Ngom was picked up MW Women’s Freshman of the Week honors.

BRODIE YOUNG, NEW MEXICO
Senior, Glasgow, Scotland/Lenzie Academy
- Posted the fastest 400-meter time in the Mountain West this season at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
- His altitude-adjusted time of 45.90 ranks No. 17 in the NCAA and fourth all-time in the Mountain West.
- Now owns four of the top five times in the 400-meter race in Mountain West history.
- Helped the Lobo 4×400-meter relay to a fourth-place finish with an altitude-adjusted time of 3:11.66, the eighth-best indoor time in program history.

LANDON HELMS, BOISE STATE
Senior, Emmett, Idaho/Texas A&M
- Won the heptathlon at the Riverfront Invitational and Multis in Spokane, Washington, scoring 5,776 points to set the Boise State program record.
- The mark is second-best all-time in the Mountain West, is the top score in the Conference this season by over 200 points and currently ranks No. 13 in the NCAA.
- Finished first in four events and second in the other three, setting a personal record in the high jump at 1.94 meters.

DAVID KONAN, UTAH STATE
Draper, Utah/Corner Canyon HS
- Won his first career 60-meter title at the Carignan Classic in Bozeman, Montana.
- His altitude-adjusted time of 6.74 is the top time for a freshman in the Conference and ranks fifth overall.
- Added a second-place finish in the 200-meter race with an altitude-adjusted time of 21.76, which is sixth-fastest by a Mountain West freshman.

Junior, Edinburgh, Scotland/Edinburgh Academy
- Finished second in the 400-meter race at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic, posting an altitude-adjusted time of 51.91 to become the first woman in program history to run the event (indoor or outdoor) in under 52 seconds.
- The mark set an Albuquerque Convention Center facility record, is currently tied for 10th in the NCAA and ranks fourth all-time in Mountain West history.
- Anchored the Lobo 4×400-meter relay team, helping New Mexico to a third-place finish with an altitude-adjusted time of 3:31.77.
- The relay time is a UNM program record, the fastest mark all-time in Mountain West and currently No. 14 in the NCAA.

MAKAYLA LONG, COLORADO STATE
Graduate, Chandler, Arizona/Baylor
- Won the shot put at the Colorado Classic in Boulder, Colorado, setting a personal-best with a throw of 16.84 meters (55-3.0).
- The mark is first in the Mountain West this year and ranks No. 16 nationally.
- Added a third-place finish in the weight throw, posting a throw of 18.43 meters (60-5.75).

EVA NGROM, NEW MEXICO
Katy, Texas/Taylor HS
- Finished seventh in the 400-meter race at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic with her altitude-adjusted time of 53.47.
- The time is the top mark by a freshman and fourth overall in the Mountain West, while it is the fourth-fastest in UNM history.
- Was part of New Mexico’s record-setting 4×400-meter relay team that ran the fastest relay time in program and Conference history and ranks No. 14 overall in the nation this season.
