COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV forward Shelbee Brown was tabbed the Old Trapper Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week and Nevada’s Skylar Durley earned the Old Trapper MW Freshman of the Week nod.

This is the third weekly honor for Brown and Durley this season.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SHELBEE BROWN, UNLV
Graduate, Forward, Memphis, Tennessee/Akron

  • Led the Lady Rebels to a 1-0 week with a road win in Logan, Utah against Utah State (70-61).
  • Recorded a season high-points and rebounds, with 21 each, while shooting 50 percent from the floor (7-for-14) and 77.8 percent from the charity stripe (7-for-9).
  • Her 21 rebounds were the first 20-plus rebound effort by a Mountain West player this season.
  • Also tallied three steals for the Scarlet and Grey.


WOMEN’S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
SKYLAR DURLEY, NEVADA
Guard, Edmond, Oklahoma/Edmond North HS

  • Averaged 18.5 points and seven rebounds across both contests this week.
  • Against Boise State, logged 20 points, eight rebounds, two assists and one steal, while shooting 55.6 percent from the field (5-for-9), perfect from three and 90 percent from the free throw line (9-for10).
  • At Fresno State, collected 17 points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal, while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor (8-for-14).
