COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force and San José State swept weekly awards this week as all four teams within the Mountain West competed in meets.
ALL-AROUNDER, BARS & FLOOR SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK
MAGGIE SLIFE, AIR FORCE
Junior, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin/Arrowhead HS
- Scored a league-best 39.475 in the all-around, the third-highest all-around total in league history to take the title in a quad meet against Boise State, Utah State and Sacramento State.
- Scored a league-best 9.950 on bars to tie the MW record on the event and capture her second title in the quad meet against BSU, USU and CSUS.
- Scored a league-best 9.900 on floor for her third individual title at the meet.
- Rounded out her all-around total with a 9.800 on vault and 9.825 on beam.
- Slife has tallied 14 weekly awards this season.
CO-VAULT SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK
KAVIANA JURRIES, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Sophomore, Boise, Idaho/Bishop Kelly HS
- Scored a league-best-tying 9.850 to capture the vault title with teammate Sophie Patterson in a home meet against Southern Utah and Texas Woman’s.
- Also recorded a 9.825 on both bars and floor during the meet.
- Has recorded back-to-back Vault Specialist of the Week honors.
CO-VAULT SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK
SOPHIE PATTERSON, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Freshman, New Westminster, British Columbia/New Westminster Secondary
- Scored a league-best-tying 9.850 to capture the vault title with teammate Kaviana Jurries in a home meet against Southern Utah and Texas Woman’s.
- Also competed in the all-around during the meet scoring a 38.800, including a 9.400 on bars, 9.825 on beam and 9.725 on floor.
FLOOR SPECIALIST & FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
GENESIS PEBENITO, SAN JOSÉ STATE
Freshman, Las Vegas, Nevada/Odyssey Charter School
- Scored a league-best 9.900 on beam to win the event against Southern Utah and Texas Woman’s.
- The 9.900 marked the highest score by any freshman in the conference this week.
- Also competed on bars (9.750) and floor (9.800) during the meet.
