COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State senior Tatum Thompson was named the Old Trapper Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week and New Mexico’s Laila Abdurraqib collected the Old Trapper MW Freshman of the Week nod.
This is the second weekly honor for Abdurraqib and first for Thompson this season.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TATUM THOMPSON, BOISE STATE
Senior, Forward, Woodinville, Washington/Woodinville HS
- Led the Broncos to a 1-0 week with a win over San José State (96-62).
- Recorded a career-high 28 points, six rebounds and three assists.
- Tallied a career-high 12 field goals while shooting 70.6 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.

LAILA ABDURRAQIB, NEW MEXICO
Guard, Fishers, Indiana/Lawrence Central HS
- Contributed to the Lobos’ 2-0 week with wins over UNLV (68-57) and Utah State (58-33) at The Pit.
- Averaged 8.5 points and two rebounds per game for the Lobos while shooting 35.3 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from three-point range.
- Against the Lady Rebels, notched 11 points and three rebounds.
- Against the Aggies, logged six points, two steals, one rebound, one assist and one block.
