COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced on Tuesday athletes of the week for women’s swimming & diving. Fresno State’s Mackenzie Miller Lung was named the MW Swimmer of the Week, Nevada’s Bailey Heydra earned MW Diver of the Week honors and Fresno State’s Hayley Oke was tabbed as the MW Freshman of the Week.
MOUNTAIN WEST SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
MACKENZIE MILLER LUNG, FRESNO STATE
Senior, Clovis, California/Clovis East HS
• Helped lead the Bulldogs to a dual meet victory over UC Davis.
• Won two individual events (100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke) and was part of the winning 200-yard medley relay team.
• Her winning time in the 100-yard breaststroke was an NCAA qualifying time of 58.72 and is the second fastest time in the Mountain West this season.
• Won the 200-yard breaststroke with an NCAA qualifying time of 2:09.17, which is the third fastest time in the MW this season.
• Also produced a time of 26.35 split in the breaststroke in the 200-yard medley relay to help her team grab the event win.
• This is the third time this season she’s been named MW Swimmer of the Week (Oct. 14 & Nov. 4).
MOUNTAIN WEST DIVER OF THE WEEK
BAILEY HEYDRA, NEVADA
Senior, Johannesburg, South Africa/St Stithians College
• Captured first place on both springboards at UNLV, sweeping the 1-meter and 3-meter dives to lead all divers in scoring.
• Posted a winning score of 303.53 on the 1-meter board, surpassing the NCAA Zone qualifying standard.
• Posted a winning score of 343.65 on the 3-meter board, surpassing the NCAA Zone qualifying standard.
• This is the fifth time she has earned Mountain West Diver of the Week honors this season.
MOUNTAIN WEST FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
HAYLEY OKE, FRESNO STATE
Swimmer, Muskoka, Ontario, Canada/Muskoka AC
• Helped lead the Bulldogs to a dual meet victory over UC Davis.
• Earned two wins on the weekend in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly.
• Her time in the 100-yard backstroke was a career-best 54.27, ranks as the 10th fastest time in the Mountain West this season and is the fastest time recorded by a freshman this season.
• Won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.88.
• Also was part of the winning 200-yard medley relay.
