AROUND THE MOUNTAIN WEST
- The MW has one program in the top 75 of the NET (San Diego State – 74) and five in the top 120 (Colorado State – 78, UNLV – 83; New Mexico – 110; Boise State – 117).
- The Mountain West is one of 10 leagues (ACC, A10, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Ivy, SEC, Sun Belt and WCC) and one of six non-Autonomous 4 leagues that have three or more teams ranked in the top 90 of the NET rankings.
- The MW is one of seven leagues (ACC, A10, Big East, Big Ten, Horizon, MAAC) with at least one team undefeated in conference action through its first nine contests.
- Mountain West teams have taken down six Autonomous 4 and Big East programs: UNLV 85 – DePaul 78, Grand Canyon 78 – SMU 60, UNLV 76 – Creighton 67, New Mexico 72 at Arizona 69, San Diego State 64 at Kansas State 53, New Mexico 63 – Houston 41.
- The MW is one of 11 leagues and one of eight non-A4 conferences, to hold opponents to 63.2 points per game or less this season (America East – 59.9, Ivy – 60.3, SEC – 60.9, Coastal – 61.6, Southern – 61.9, Patriot – 62.0, A10 – 62.1, Big 12 – 62.1, Big East – 63.0, CUSA – 63.0, Mountain West – 63.2).
- San Diego State is looking to become the sixth team in MW history to start 10-0 in conference play, joining 2022-23 UNLV, 2019-20 Fresno State, 2015-16 Colorado State and Utah State in 2000-01 and 2007-08. Each of the previous teams made the NCAA Tournament the years that there was one.
- Colorado State leads the MW and ranks 15th in DI in scoring defense, only allowing 55.6 points per game. The last MW teams to rank in the top 15 of this category were CSU (fifth), Wyoming (seventh) and UNLV (15th) in 2016-17 – the Rams face the top scoring offense in the league this week on Wednesday, Jan. 28 as they take on San Diego State (72.5).
- UNLV is one of five DI schools that has multiple players who have recorded at least six double-doubles this season (Iowa State, Kentucky, Southern Utah and Troy).
- As a team, the Broncos are ranked second in DI for 3-point percentage (39.1).
- The Rams are ranked 15th in DI in opponent points (55.6) and 19th in opponent field goal percentage (35.8).
- The Aztecs are ranked 21st in DI in 3-point percentage (36.3).

March 10 – MW Championship Game @ 6:30 p.m. PT (CBSSN) - UNLV’s Destiny Leo has been named to the 2026 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award watch list. Leo is one of 20 student-athletes on the list.
- UNLV’s Lindy La Rocque has been named to the 2026 Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year preseason watch list.
- The MW welcomes three new head coaches to the league: Ryan McCarthy (Fresno State), Winston Gandy (Grand Canyon) and Jonas Chatterton (San José State).
- Four MW programs competed in postseason tournaments last season: Air Force (WNIT), San Diego State (NCAA), UNLV (WBIT), Wyoming (WBIT).
