- The Mountain West has the fifth-best strength of schedule among the 31 DI conferences, trailing the Big East, Big Ten, ACC and Big 12.

- Grand Canyon University joined the Mountain West on July 1, 2025, expanding the competitive footprint and adding a program with four NCAA appearances in five years under head coach Bryce Drew.
