AROUND THE MOUNTAIN WEST
- The MW has one program in the top 60 of the NET (Colorado State – 57) and four in the top 110 (San Diego State – 85; UNLV – 87; New Mexico – 108).
- Mountain West teams have taken down six Autonomous 4 and Big East programs: UNLV 85 – DePaul 78, Grand Canyon 78 – SMU 60, UNLV 76 – Creighton 67, New Mexico 72 at Arizona 69, San Diego State 64 at Kansas State 53, New Mexico 63 – Houston 41.
- The MW is one of 11 leagues and one of seven non-A4 conferences, to hold opponents to 62.8 points per game or less this season (SEC – 57.6, America East – 59.8, Big 12 – 60.6, Ivy – 60.8, Big Ten – 61.0, Southern – 62.2, ACC – 62.2, Coastal – 62.5, Big East, 62.6, Mountain West – 62.8, Atlantic 10 – 62.8).
- The Mountain West is one of 10 leagues (ACC, A10, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Ivy, SEC, Sun Belt and WCC) that have three or more teams ranked in the top 90 of the NET rankings.
- Colorado State, San Diego State and UNLV have all started Conference play with four straight wins. It is the first time in MW history three or more teams have started 4-0 in league action in the same season.
- As a team, the Broncos are ranked ninth in DI for 3-point percentage (38.6).
- Colorado State has won 12 straight road games, one shy of trying the longest road win streak ever by a MW team (BYU in 2005-06, UNLV in 2023). The Rams are one of two DI teams with an active double-digit road winning streak (Columbia – 14).
- The Rams are ranked 21st in DI in opponent field goal percentage (34.9).
- New Mexico’s 89-51 win at San José State was its second road win by at least 30 points this season (also at NMSU). No other MW team has a single 30-point win on the road in 2025-26. Only UConn (four) and LSU (three) have more such wins in DI than the Lobos.
- UNLV’s Shelbee Brown has recorded 100 defensive rebounds, 29 offensive rebounds and 35 steals this season. The only other DI player with at least 100 defensive rebounds, 25 offensive rebounds and 30 steals this season is Cal Baptist’s Filipa Barros.
- Wyoming’s Malene Pedersen has scored in double figures and made at least one trey in 21 straight games. It is the third-longest active such streak in DI, behind only Abilene Christian’s Payton Hull (30) and Vanderbilt’s Mikayla Blakes (24).

March 10 – MW Championship Game @ 6:30 p.m. PT (CBSSN) - UNLV’s Destiny Leo has been named to the 2026 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award watch list. Leo is one of 20 student-athletes on the list.
- UNLV’s Lindy La Rocque has been named to the 2026 Kathy Delaney-Smith Coach of the Year preseason watch list.
- The MW welcomes three new head coaches to the league: Ryan McCarthy (Fresno State), Winston Gandy (Grand Canyon) and Jonas Chatterton (San José State).
- Four MW programs competed in postseason tournaments last season: Air Force (WNIT), San Diego State (NCAA), UNLV (WBIT), Wyoming (WBIT).
