AROUND THE MOUNTAIN WEST
- The MW has one program in the top 58 of the NET (Colorado State – 58) and four in the top 114 (San Diego State – 84; UNLV – 95; New Mexico – 114).
- Mountain West teams have taken down six Autonomous 4 and Big East programs: UNLV 85 – DePaul 78, Grand Canyon 78 – SMU 60, UNLV 76 – Creighton 67, New Mexico 72 at Arizona 69, San Diego State 64 at Kansas State 53, New Mexico 63 – Houston 41.
- The MW is one of seven leagues and one of three non-A4 conferences, to hold opponents to 62.3 points per game or less this season (SEC – 56.1, America East – 59.2, Big 12 – 59.3, Big Ten – 59.9, Ivy – 60.5, ACC – 61.0).
- Boise State leads the MW in both 3-point percentage (38.7) and assists (214), something no MW program has done in a season since Colorado State in 2015-16. The Broncos are one of 11 DI teams currently leading their conference in both categories.
- As a team, the Broncos are ranked 10th in DI for 3-point percentage (38.7).
- Colorado State is allowing an average of 27.5 points per game in the second half this season, the 10th-fewest by any DI program. The last MW team to finish a season allowing such a low scoring average in the second half was Utah in 2009-10.
- The Rams are ranked 18th in DI in opponent field goal percentage (33.9).
- UNLV is 53-3 (.946) in regular-season Conference games since the beginning of the 2022-23 season. Among teams that have been DI each of the last four season, that’s the fifth-best regular-season record in league action, behind only South Dakota State, FGCU, South Carolina and UConn.
- The Mountain West will have five contests aired on national television this year through CBS Sports Network or FOX Sports:
