COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV’s Shelbee Brown was tabbed the Old Trapper Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Grand Canyon’s Ines Zounia earned the Old Trapper MW Freshman of the Week nod.
This is the first weekly honor for Brown and Zounia during the 2025-26 season.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SHELBEE BROWN, UNLV
Graduate, Forward, Memphis, Tennessee/Akron
- Led the Lady Rebels to a 2-0 week to start league play with wins over Grand Canyon (61-60) and New Mexico (89-71).
- Averaged a double-double with 13.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game, along with 2.5 assists and one steal per game.
- At GCU, recorded 11 points, nine rebounds and two assists and shot 83 percent from the field (5-for-6).
- Against the Lobos, registered 16 points, 14 boards, three assists and two steals for the Scarlet and Gray. Shot 80 percent from the floor (8-for-10).
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
INES ZOUNIA, GRAND CANYON
Guard, Lille, France/Lycée Voltaire
- Tied a career-high 10 points against UNLV.
- Shot 50 percent from the field with a career-high two 3-pointers.
- Notched three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal for the Lopes.
