BOISE, Idaho – Boise State was voted No. 32 in the preseason Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association poll, the organization announced. The Broncos collected 354 points, placing them highest among Mountain West teams. This morning, Boise State was announced as the MW preseason favorite for the third-straight season. The Broncos won the conference championship meet in 2024 and earned the regular season league title in 2025.
Boise State welcomes back MW Co-Freshman of the Year Kristina Shchennikova, who was a second team All-MW selection on bars. Also rejoining the Broncos are All-MW floor performers Blake Pascal (first team) and Bridget Kemp (second team). Tina Bird, the two-time MW Coach of the Year, returns for her 19th season at the helm. The Broncos have qualified for NCAA Regionals every year under Bird, with the exception of 2020, when the competition was canceled.
All 14 of Boise State’s 2026 opponents are ranked or receiving votes in the WCGA preseason poll, including seven in the top 25. The Broncos will compete against No. 11 Auburn, No. 13 Stanford, No. 17 Oregon State, No. 20 California, No. 23 NC State, No. 24 North Carolina and No. 25 Arizona State this season. No. 33 Utah State was the lone MW foe ranked, with San Jose State and Air Force receiving votes.
The Broncos start the 2026 season at Southern Utah, competing against the Flippin’ Birds at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 9. Boise State will be home for three regular season meets (Jan. 30, Feb. 6 and March 13) before hosting the MW Championships on March 21. New season tickets are on sale here.
