COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Mountain West announced today the hire of Jennifer Dominguez as director of governance and compliance.
She officially joins the MW staff Monday, Dec 8.
Dominguez comes to the Mountain West from Major League Soccer, where she was the director of player relations since 2023. There, she oversaw matters related to maintenance, reform, enhancement and education of the MLS roster and budget rules. She also implemented and managed a club-wide compliance program and collaborated on the league’s player development matters.
Before MLS, Dominguez worked at the Big Ten Conference from 2016-23.
There, she provided advice to member institutions regarding application of NCAA and Big Ten rules, oversaw the nomination and selection process for the conference’s Student-Athlete Autonomy Representatives and NCAA DI Representative, and served as the conference administrator to the Big Ten Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, among other duties.
Dominguez also worked at three Big 12 schools, serving as a compliance coordinator at Texas Tech, as a compliance graduate assistant at Kansas and as a compliance intern at Iowa State.
An All-America soccer player at Iowa State, Dominguez graduated with undergraduate degrees in political science and women’s studies before completing a master’s in sports management from Kansas.
