COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – UNLV’s Meadow Roland was tabbed the Old Trapper Mountain West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Fresno State’s Ava Marr was named the Old Trapper MW Freshman of the Week.

Sophomore, Forward, Fresno, California/San Joaquin Memorial HS

  • Led the Lady Rebels to a pair of victories at home over Washington State (64-51) and DePaul (85-78).
  • Shot 48 percent from the field, averaging 17.5 points and 12 rebounds per game.
  • Against the Cougars, tallied 17 points, nine rebounds and one steal, while shooting 53.8 from floor.
  • Against the Blue Demons, recorded 18 points, 15 rebounds, a career-high five blocks, two assists and two steals.


FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
AVA MARR, FRESNO STATE
Guard, Brier, Washington/Archbishop Murphy HS

  • Guided the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week to open the season against Fresno Pacific (87-38) and CSU Bakersfield (74-51).
  • Averaged 10.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.
  • Against the Sunbirds, logged 15 points, six rebounds and three steals.
  • Against the Roadrunners, registered six points and three rebounds.
