LAS VEGAS – San Diego State has been predicted to win the 2025-26 Mountain West regular-season title, as voted on by select media and announced Thursday morning ahead of the Old Trapper Mountain West Basketball Media Day.

The Aztecs received all 26 first-place votes and earned 312 points in the 2025-26 MW Men’s Basketball Predicted Order of Finish. San Diego State returns four starters from last year’s squad, including All-Mountain West selections Miles Byrd and Magoon Gwath. Also returning to the line up in 2025-26 after missing last season due to injury is senior guard Reese Dixon-Waters. Joining head coach Brian Dutcher and the Aztecs in 2025-26 are five newcomers, headlined by Preseason Mountain West Freshman of the Year Elzie Harrington.

Utah State was picked second in the preseason poll with 275 points, while Boise State was selected third with 260 points. Grand Canyon was picked fourth with 224 points and New Mexico was chosen to finish fifth with 182 points, while UNLV was selected sixth with 174 points.

Rounding out the poll are Colorado State and Nevada in a tie for seventh with 164 points each, Wyoming ninth with 96 points, San José State 10th with 82 points, Fresno State 11th with 65 points and Air Force 12th with 30 points.
