COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The New Mexico men and women’s cross country programs both sit in the top three of the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national poll, released on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

The Lobo men stayed steady at No. 2 after occupying the same spot in the preseason poll, while the women jumped up one spot to No. 3 after a preseason No. 4 ranking. The No. 2 ranking for the men matches the highest in program history while the No. 3 slot for the women is the highest since they finished the 2022 season at No. 2.

On the men’s side, Air Force joined the Lobos in the top 25, checking in at No. 24, while Boise State received votes.

The 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Cross Country Championships are set for Friday, October 31 and will be hosted by Fresno State at the Woodward Park in Fresno, California.
